PROJECT OF PLAYGROUP
INTRODUCTION
This
project was based on different nature hunt activities through which students explored
different things of nature. The children counted the number of trees, birds, flowers,
insects, leaves and rocks during short outdoor adventure. Preferred areas to
carry out this research projects were Shimla hills, Ladies Garden and Infinite
Garden.
RESEARCH
OBJECTIVES
i.
To explore nature.
ii. To count nature.
iii. To identify and
differentiate different objects of nature.
iv. To use analytical
skills to count. Children have counting up to 10 in their syllabus but through this research project children will explore counting beyond that.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1.
How many different
flowers can children find in the park?
2.
How many birds do
children see during their nature walk?
3.
Can children count
how many colourful butterflies are fluttering around the flowers?
4.
How many different
types of leaves can children find during their nature walk?
5.
How many rocks can
children gather during a nature scavenger hunt?
6.
How many insects
can children find during bug exploration activity?
7.
How many trees can
children find in the park?
8.
How many pinecones
can children find during nature hunt?
RESEARCH TOOLS
· Magnifying glass
to observe different objects of nature.
· Spindle box for
counting.
· Paper and pencil
to note collected data.
· Camera to click
pictures and record videos which will be used later to display and show the
data and results of the research project.
· Coloured computer
papers and charts to perform activities.
SOURCES AND METHODOLOGY
The study is exploratory in nature. To gain an
in-depth knowledge of the study, the approach has been kept quantitative. In
this regard both primary sources and numerical values have been utilized. It is
also a field-study method since the data since the data is carried out purely
through physical investigation.

The
